Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 DEF
In a clinical trial, the concealing from the subjects and/or investigators of the identity of the persons receiving the interventions being studied and the control interventions (or standard care). 1, record 1, English, - blinding
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
This method is intended to eliminate the possibility that knowledge of which intervention is being received will affect patient outcomes or investigator behaviours that may affect outcomes. Blinding is not always practical (e.g. when comparing surgery to drug treatment), but it should be used whenever it is possible and compatible with optimal patient care. 1, record 1, English, - blinding

Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 DEF
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
1, record 1, French, - insu
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 OBS

The condition whereby soil particles block the voids at the surface of a geotextile, thereby reducing the hydraulic conductivity of the geotextile. 3, record 3, English, - blinding
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 1 OBS
Blocking is where soil particles resting on the surface of the geotextile, either totally or partially obstruct the pore openings. ... Blinding is a special form of severe blocking, where the soil grading permits the suffusion of fine soil particles which are too large to pass through the geotextile. 4, record 3, English, - blinding
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 2 OBS
blocking: A synonymous term for blinding. 3, record 3, English, - blinding
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 3 OBS
The distinction, if any, between "blinding" and "blocking" is thin and was found in only one source. 5, record 3, English, - blinding
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 4 OBS
Clogging may be defined as follows: the reduction of geotextile permeability occurring when fine grained material becomes trapped in or on the geotextile. In contrast to blocking, clogging is a time-dependent process. 6, record 3, English, - blinding

Record number: 3, Textual support number: 1 CONT
3, record 3, French, - colmatage

[Electronic privacy] ... the observer blinds the public keys, signs them with a special built-in key and gives them to the card. The card verifies the blinding and the signature and checks the keys to make sure they were correctly generated. It passes the blinded, signed keys to the validating authority, which recognizes the observer's built-in signature, removes it and signs the blinded keys with its own key. The authority passes the keys back to the card, which unblinds them.
