On 28 December 1807 Father Peter Joseph Triest gathered together a number of young men whose task was to become the care of a group of elderly men. In Ghent, like in many towns in our region, the circumstances in which the poor, the sick, and the elderly were forced to live were abominable. Triest wanted to do something about that. So he founded four congregations. Our story is about one of them : the Brother of Charity. Originally, they were named the Hospital Brothers of St. Vincent. In 1811 the first Brothers took their religious vows. From then on, they lived the life of a religious brother. 1, record 24, English, - Brothers%20of%20Charity

Communion and Liberation is a movement in the Church which has the purpose of forming its members in Christianity in order to make them coworkers in the Church’s mission in all areas of society. 1, record 45, English, - Communion%20and%20Liberation

CL began in 1954 in Italy, at the Berchet classical high school in Milan, when Father Luigi Giussani(1922-2005) started an initiative of Christian presence which uses the pre-existent name Gioventù Studentesca(GS; English : Student Youth). Its current name, Communion and Liberation(CL), appeared for the first time in 1969. This name brings together the conviction that the Christian event, lived in communion, is the foundation of man's authentic liberation.... Communion and Liberation is present today in roughly ninety countries on all the inhabited continents, and is guided by Father Julián Carrón, who succeeded Father Giussani after his death in 2005. 1, record 45, English, - Communion%20and%20Liberation

The man who became chief was the one who proved best qualified to ensure his group's survival. As the Amerindians usually lived scattered throughout the forest, this role often fell upon the male head of a family if the need was felt. This leadership was based on wisdom and experience, rather than authority. The chieftainship was also handed down from father to son, with the agreement of the other members of the group. 1, record 99, English, - chieftainship

2, record 100, French, - mobilit%C3%A9%20interg%C3%A9n%C3%A9rationnelle
