3, record 2, French, - poseur%20de%20boulons%20dans%20le%20toit

A bolt designed for use in roof bolting. It consists of a 3/4 in. diameter rod, at one end of which is a cold-rolled threaded portion, the other end being shaped to form a solid wedge forged integrally with the bolt. Over this wedge is fitted a loose split sleeve of 1-1/2 in. external diameter. The anchorage is provided by the bolt being placed in the hole and the bolt is pulled downwards while the sleeve is held by the thrust tube. Split by the wedge head of the bolt, the sleeve expands until it grips the sides of the hole. 1, record 4, English, - wedge%2Dand%2Dsleeve%20bolt

A more sophisticated type of(rock bolt) tension indicator is the compression pad. This consists of a rubber disk sandwiched between two steel plate washers. The assemblage is installed in the manner of a bearing plate on the bolt. The amount by which the rubber disk extrudes around the periphery is proportional to the tension in the roof bolt and may be measured with a circular steel band which is graduated to read directly in pounds. 2, record 10, English, - compression%20pad

Resin Anchored Bolts. (...) It has been found that the use of resins will increase significantly the holding ability of expansion anchors. Two types of resin packages are available. In one type, the resin and catalyst are at opposite ends of a plastic envelope separated by a clip. The clip is removed and the package kneaded to mix the components. Then the package is thrust up the hole and a bolt with a mechanical anchor is inserted; in tightening the package will burst and the resin will ooze around the anchor. The other type is a glass capsule where resin and quartz granulars are contained in an outer glass capsule and the catalyst is in an inner tube. (...) Bolt ends need no threading for this anchorage. 1, record 11, English, - resin%20anchored%20bolt

1, record 11, French, - boulon%20%C3%A0%20la%20r%C3%A9sine
