The building automation system (BAS) core functionality is to keep building climate within a specified range, light rooms based on an occupancy schedule, monitor performance and device failures in all systems and provide malfunction alarms. Automation systems reduce building energy and maintenance costs compared to a non-controlled building.

[Sur un véhicule équipé de l'ABS (système de freinage antiblocage),] système amplifiant la force de freinage en cas d'arrêt d'urgence.

OBS

Ce système augmente la puissance de freinage quand le conducteur n'appuie pas assez fort sur la pédale en début de freinage d'urgence. Pour cela, le mouvement du pied sur sa pédale est analysé par deux capteurs, l'un sur la pédale, l'autre au niveau du maître-cylindre du circuit de freinage. Si le mouvement est rapide mais la pression pas assez forte, l'électronique prend le relais en agissant sur le maître-cylindre pour envoyer dans le circuit de freinage la pression maximale et déclencher l'ABS immédiatement. L'action du BAS ne dure que quelques dixièmes de seconde, si le conducteur relâche la pression sur la pédale, il n'intervient plus.
