Contraction of the orbicularis oris and buccinator muscles, induced by percussion of the temporofacial branch of the facial nerve, which may be taken as indicative of tetany, particularly in children.

OBS

Ce signe n'est pas absolument constant chez les sujets atteints de tétanie hypocalcémique. D'ailleurs on le trouve chez 5 à 20 pour 100 des sujets qui n'ont ni hypocalcémie ni tétanie.
