Le saut de bison consistait en un couloir délimité par deux murs de pierre et de broussailles en forme de V, menant au bord d'une falaise. On acheminait les animaux dans ce couloir, puis on semait la panique dans le troupeau pour inciter les bêtes à se précipiter du haut de la falaise.
