Biens abandonnés. Des biens sont parfois abandonnés par leurs propriétaires qui renoncent, dès lors, au droit réel qu'ils détenaient à l'égard de ces biens. Il s'ensuit que ces biens ne peuvent plus être revendiqués par leur propriétaire. L'exercice de la faculté d'abandon fait que ces biens ne sont plus objets de propriété (res derelictae).

OBS

Au Québec, les biens de peu de valeur ou très détériorés laissés le long de la voie publique sont réputés abandonnés, aux termes de l'article 934 du Code civil du Québec.
