Lung abscess literally means a collection of pus within a destroyed portion of the lung; thus there are numerous possible causes of such a lesion. As used clinically, however, the term lung abscess refers to a pulmonary infection with parenchymal necrosis, generally caused by bacteria other than mycobacteria. 1, record 1, English, - lung%20abscess

Abcès du poumon. Rare chez l'enfant, il évolue en trois phases anatomo-cliniques de constitution (évolution de l'alvéolite fibrino-leucocytaire à l'alvéolite suppurée), vomique (fonte purulente et évacuation de pus), et foyer ouvert (cavité pulmonaire avec niveau liquide, communiquant avec les bronches).
