Dans le Condensé hebdomadaire du renseignement, on parle souvent de ce numéro comme s'il s'agissait d'un autre numéro de série que l'on avait ajouté. Il s'agit en fait du numéro qui apparaît sur la pellicule de plastique qui est apposée sur la photo du titulaire et qui devient de ce fait un numéro de contrôle. Ce numéro n'est pas le numéro de série du visa. Donc, éviter la traduction littérale, du type «le numéro de série ajouté».
