English

Subject field(s)
  • Combustion and Fuels (Fireplaces)
  • Biomass Energy
DEF

A biofuel obtained as a product of energy crops and/or agricultural by-products.

OBS

In French, a distinction is made between "agrocombustible" and "agrocarburant," the latter having a more restrictive meaning. "Agrocarburants" are "agrocombustibles" that are only used to feed spark and compression-ignition engines and reaction engines.

OBS

The terms "biofuel" and "agrofuel" were originally synonyms as all biofuels were agricultural products. This is no longer the case.

  • agro-fuel

French

Domaine(s)
  • Combustion et combustibles (Foyers)
  • Énergie de la biomasse
DEF

Key term(s)
