La mayoría de los equipos tomográficos de medicina nuclear, utilizan para la reconstrucción topográfica de sus imágenes, el algoritmo de retroproyección filtrada. Este es de carácter analítico, y está basado en la transformada de Radón, y el teorema del corte de Fourier.
