La certification d'un produit biologique est la meilleure garantie pour le consommateur que le produit est vraiment issu d'une culture biologique. La certification prouve que le producteur ou le transformateur a respecté un cahier des normes précis. Pour qu'un produit puisse être étiqueté comme produit de l'agriculture biologique, il faut que tous ses ingrédients d'origine agricole proviennent d'entreprises ou d'unités de production certifiées biologiques selon les règles du certificateur.
