Inclinaison latérale du tronc, convexe du côté de la douleur ou du côté sain. Elle évoque un problème discal le plus souvent en L4-L5, parfois en L3-L4, exceptionnellement en L5-S1. Les attitudes antalgiques latérales réalisent une déviation globale très particulière qui les distinguent des scolioses. Le tronc est déjeté latéralement par rapport au bassin et aux membres inférieurs qui restent équilibrés.
