Depuis quelques années, on a vu apparaître sur le marché de nouveaux paillis biodégradables fabriqués principalement à base d’amidon de maïs. Il s’agit donc là d’une solution de remplacement des films de polyéthylènes conventionnels. Toutefois, ces films biodégradables sont produits à partir de ressources alimentaires, ce qui s’avère un choix discutable au niveau du développement durable.
