An interest-bearing certificate of indebtedness issued by the Government of Canada, and having the following characteristics: issued to Canadian residents; registered in the name of the holder; fixed date of maturity; non-marketable; redeemable on demand by the holder with accrued interest calculated to the end of the previous month; not subject to call before maturity; term to maturity is seven years or more.
