Since information on technology transfer opportunities is found in a multitude of sources, efforts are under way to establish a Canadian Environmental Technology Clearinghouse that would complement the activities of UNEP's International Clean Production Information Clearinghouse. Étant donné la provenance extrêmement diverse des renseignements sur les débouchés en matière de transferts de technologies, on s'efforce actuellement de créer un Bureau canadien d'échange d'information sur les technologies environnementales, dont les activités viendraient compléter celles du Centre d'information international sur les procédés de production les moins polluants, mis en œuvre par le PNUE.
