In September of 1992, Agriculture Canada contracted the Process Development Group of the Saskatchewan Research Council to conduct market research related to the establishment of a Canadian Ethanol Research and Development Centre (CERDC). The proposed function of the centre would be the development, evaluation, and scale-up of fuel ethanol process technology and the value-added upgrading of fermentation co-products.
