The Scientific Advisory Committee on Human Reproductive Therapies (SAC-HRT) provides Health Canada (HC) with timely scientific, technical and medical advice related to the evaluation of safety and efficacy data for human reproductive therapies that are submitted as part of the drug/medical devices review process and/or from post-market surveillance activities. Involvement of the scientific and medical communities in regulatory decision making is expected to enhance transparency and provide the opportunity for proactive external guidance, thus improving the drug review process. Le Comité consultatif scientifique sur les traitements liés à la procréation (CCS-TP) fournit à Santé Canada (SC), en temps opportun, des avis scientifiques, techniques et médicaux concernant l'évaluation des données sur l'innocuité et l'efficacité des traitements liés à la procréation, qui sont soumises dans le cadre du processus d'examen des présentations de drogues ou de matériels médicaux ou des activités de surveillance post-commercialisation. La participation des communautés scientifique et médicale aux décisions en matière de réglementation devrait accroître la transparence du processus et permettre une contribution externe proactive. Le processus d'examen des présentations de drogues devrait s'en trouver amélioré.
