Le procédé de combustion dans un système de chauffage central à circulation d'eau chaude est pratiquement le même que celui d'un chauffage central à air pulsé. (...) Il existe deux types courants de systèmes de chauffage à eau chaude. Il y a tout d'abord le système à circulation naturelle qui utilise une chaudière à cheminée, c'est-à-dire (...) une chambre de combustion entourée d'un réservoir d'eau. La chaleur traverse directement les parois de la chambre de combustion pour pénétrer dans l'eau et circule par convection dans chaque radiateur des pièces de l'habitation. Ce système déplace lentement un grand volume d'eau à une température de 40°C (100°F) dans le système de distribution qui la ramène dans le réservoir.
