Cette pression est généralement indiquée sur la façade avant de l'appareil par un contrôleur de pression gradué soit en bar, soit en psig [...] Le gaz vecteur passe ensuite en général à travers un régulateur de débit qui assure, quelle que soit l'évolution de la perte de charge de la colonne située en aval, un débit constant. Ce contrôleur de débit est alimenté en gaz vecteur par une vanne aiguille de précision, cette vanne aiguille permettant de régler rapidement le débit du gaz vecteur dans le système chromatographique et en particulier dans la colonne. Le gaz vecteur est ensuite amené à l'injecteur.
