C'est un clavier plat. Deux feuilles de plastique de faible épaisseur, les membranes, sont enduites d'un circuit réalisé avec une encre conductrice. Au-dessus des membranes est disposé un panneau sur lequel est imprimée une représentation du clavier. Les deux membranes sont séparées par une cloison percée de trous : un trou en regard de chacun des emplacements des touches sur le panneau imprimé.
