Cloud height measurement method. Method (optical, electronic, etc.) which allows the height of a cloud base or top to be determined. 5, record 1, English, - cloud%20altitude

The heights of clouds are determined by several different methods, which may be roughly classed as estimation and measurement. The method of estimation is applicable in daylight and in bright moonlight. Under suitable light conditions an experienced and careful observer obtains very satisfactory results in determining cloud height in this manner. A visual estimation is made of the distance from the ground to the cloud base. 4, record 1, English, - cloud%20altitude
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The term "cloud height" usually refers to the cloud base (not cloud top) above ground level (not mean sea level). 6, record 1, English, - cloud%20altitude

3, record 1, French, - altitude%20des%20nuages
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
4, record 1, French, - altitude%20des%20nuages
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 OBS
4, record 1, French, - altitude%20des%20nuages
