CONT

"Enthalpy" can be translated in most cases as "heat" and is the available energy of a molecule or group of molecules.

OBS

The change in enthalpy is a measure of the heat imparted to a system during a reversible isobaric process. In meteorology, enthalpy is used in the context h = cpT (sensible heat as opposed to latent heat), cp being the specific heat of air at constant pressure and T, the temperature.

OBS

According to "ASHRAE handbook & product directory" (AHPDE), enthalpy was "formerly called 'total heat' and 'heat content'".

OBS

The "New International Dictionary of Refrigeration" (DIFRA 1970, p. 46) do not recommend the use of "heat content" and "total heat".
