GATT, Article IV (a): Screen quotas may require the exhibition of cinematograph films of national origin during a specified minimum proportion of the total screen time actually utilized, over a specified period of not less than one year, in the commercial exhibition of all films of whatever origin, and shall be computed on the basis of screen time per theatre per year or the equivalent thereof.

[...] índice de audiencia y cuota de pantalla [...] La diferencia entre estos dos indicadores de audiencia radica en la referencia que se utiliza para medirla: mientras que en el primero se consideran todos los televisores, encendidos y apagados, del universo de la muestra (por ejemplo, el territorio español) en el momento de la medición, en el segundo solo se tienen en cuenta los que están encendidos.

cuota de pantalla: La Fundación del Español Urgente (Fundéu BBVA), con el asesoramiento de la Real Academia Española, recomienda sustituir el anglicismo "share" en este contexto por "cuota de pantalla".
