During both phases, 20 Volts line to neutral, 3 phase AC is applied through relays 1K1 and 1K2 to the VG [vertical gyro] and DG [directional gyro] spin motors to bring the gyros up to usable speed quickly. Excitation is reduced to 14 Volts line to neutral when the radid alignment cycle is complete.
