Les panneaux équarris sont (...) passés au racloir (...) dans le but d'obtenir une surface unie et polie. Un racloir comporte des séries de rouleaux et de cylindres disposés les uns au-dessus des autres. Les rouleaux inférieurs entraînent le panneau et les cylindres supérieurs au nombre de 2 ou 3 sont constitués comme un porte-outils de raboteuse, mais de grandes dimensions (...) Les panneaux sont obligatoirement introduits dans le racloir suivant le fil du bois et leur vitesse d'entraînement varie de 20 à 30 m/mn. A la sortie les panneaux doivent être repris et retournés pour le raclage de la deuxième face.
