Procédé de distillation à effets multiples dans lequel la vapeur de chauffage est envoyée dans un premier évaporateur et arrive autour d'un faisceau tubulaire vertical. On introduit dans ce faisceau tubulaire, par le haut, de l'eau de mer préchauffée par l'eau douce produite. Cette eau de mer formule une pellicule sur la paroi intérieure de chaque tube et entre en ébullition en descendant dans les tubes.
