La dose par unité d’incorporation (DPUI) est exprimée en Sv/Bq. Plus la DPUI sera élevée, plus le radionucléide sera considéré comme radiotoxique. Son calcul tient compte de la période radioactive du radionucléide, de sa période biologique, de son temps de séjour dans les différents organes et de l’irradiation potentielle d’un organe (cible) par un autre organe (source).
