OBS

L'estampage de pièces mécaniques en alliage ferreux est exécuté sous l'action d'engins de pression ou de choc, presse mécanique ou pilon. Il diffère de l'emboutissage, qui produit des pièces d'une épaisseur à peu près uniforme, par le fait qu'il crée des reliefs; il diffère peu du matriçage, qui est réservé pour la fabrication de pièces en matériau non ferreux.
