You might be interested to know that we saw some very bright white rainbows at the South Pole in the 97-98 season. Even though the temperature was -30F or so, the water drops had not frozen but remained super-cooled water droplets, capable of forming a white rainbow.

COMMENT SE FORMENT LES NUAGES? La chaleur du soleil chauffe l'eau présente à la surface de la terre (mers, rivières, flaques, ...). L'eau est transformée en vapeur et monte dans les airs. L'air en circulant se mélange. L'air chaud chargé de vapeur qui monte du sol va rencontrer une couche d'air froid. La vapeur va se refroidir et redevenir liquide (se condenser). Le gaz se transforme en minuscules gouttes d'eau qui rassemblées, constituent un nuage. Il y a environ 500 gouttelettes dans un cm cube de nuage.
