Opération d'épikéroplastie (Modernissimots, p. 187) consistant à greffer une lamelle de cornée, provenant d'une banque des yeux, taillée à froid de telle sorte qu'elle sert de lentille correctrice, et suturée sur la cornée du patient.

Épikératogreffes : la cornée humaine est prétaillée dans une banque des yeux, à la puissance commandée; ce lenticule est stérilisé, desséché, mis en flacon et expédié. L'opération consiste à le suturer après réhydratation sur la cornée du patient. (Universalia, 1988, p. 281)
