Chemical factors: Body fluids, such as gastric juice and tears, contain certain enzymes that exert an antiseptic action against disease-causing agents. Pepsin in gastric fluid acts against bacteria that invade the stomach, and lysozyme in tears protects against certain pathogens in the eyes.
