Fecundidad y fertilidad. La diferencia entre ambos conceptos es similar a la existente entre la realidad y la posibilidad. La fecundidad se refiere a los hijos habidos y la fertilidad a la capacidad de tenerlos. Se puede ser fértil y no haber tenido ningún hijo todavía, o se puede haber tenido hijos (ser fecundo) y, en cambio, haber perdido posteriormente la fertilidad. En demografía la fecundidad hace alusión al número medio de hijos tenidos por una generación, casi siempre femenina, a lo largo de su vida reproductiva (aunque también es posible el mismo cálculo para la fecundidad masculina), si a esas mujeres no les afectase la mortalidad durante ese periodo de su vida. 3, record 1, Spanish, - fecundidad
