Record 1, Textual support, English
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 DEF
The ratio of the frictional force between two bodies in contact, parallel to the surface of contact, to the force, normal to the surface of contact, with which the bodies press against each other. 3, record 1, English, - coefficient%20of%20friction
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Sliding friction. The force needed to keep one solid surface just sliding over another is known as kinetic or dynamic friction. The force which has to be applied to initiate motion is slightly greater and is called static or limiting friction. The friction increases approximately in proportion to the total perpendicular force (normal reaction) between the surfaces and its ratio to the normal reaction between the surfaces is called a coefficient of friction. 4, record 1, English, - coefficient%20of%20friction

Record 1, Textual support, French
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 DEF
3, record 1, French, - coefficient%20de%20frottement
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 CONT
5, record 1, French, - coefficient%20de%20frottement
