Signalons [...] qu'en français et en anglais, on utilise indifféremment glacitectonique («glacitectonic») et glaciotectonique («glaciotectonic»). Quoi qu'en pensent certains chercheurs, l'un ou l'autre terme est aussi valable. Curieusement, le Glossary of Geology de l'American Geological Institute (1987), l'ouvrage le plus complet dans le domaine des sciences de la Terre, préconise plutôt l'emploi du vocable «cryotectonic».
