WHMIS will be implemented by federal and provincial legislation. The recently amended Hazardous Products Act (HPA) and the Controlled Products Regulations will require suppliers of hazardous materials to provide adequate labels and MSDSs as conditions of sale and importation. The Ingredient Disclosure List contains the names of chemicals which must be identified on material safety data sheets if they are included in products which fall into the WHMIS criteria/specified in the Controlled Products Regulations. The Hazardous Materials Information Review Act and regulations will establish a Commission to rule on claims and appeals related to exemptions from disclosure of confidential business information. 3, record 1, English, - Hazardous%20Products%20Act

Le SIMDUT sera mis en œuvre par les lois provinciales et fédérales. La Loi sur les produits dangereux et les Règlements sur les produits contrôlés obligeront les fournisseurs de matières dangereuses à fournir les étiquettes appropriées ainsi que des fiches signalétiques comme conditions de vente et d'importations. La liste de divulgation des ingrédients comporte les noms des produits chimiques qui doivent apparaître sur les fiches signalétiques lorsque ceux-ci ont servi à la fabrication de produits visés par les critères SIMDUT prévus dans le Règlement sur les produits contrôlés.
