L'installation couloir-rituel. [...] Ce type d'installation propose un parcours continu d'un espace. Le corps du spectateur invité à y déambuler est totalement inclus dans le champ de l'œuvre dont la lecture est orientée. La temporalité de l'expérience perceptuelle de ce premier type d'installation est dense, longue et linéaire; et c'est à travers une activité kinesthésique ininterrompue que l'appréhension du contenu de l'installation s'effectuera [...] La temporalité liée à un parcours dans l'œuvre constitue l'un des éléments caractéristiques de ce type d'installation.

Plusieurs installations de Kosuth fonctionnent sur ce modèle (notamment celle qui fut présentée à l'exposition Lumières des Cent jours d'art contemporain à Montréal en 1989); l'artiste propose la traversée sans arrêt d'une salle fermée dont les murs supportent du texte au néon. [...] Encore plus spatialisante, Articulated Lair de Louise Bourgeois présentée à l'exposition Magiciens de la Terre (Beaubourg, été 1989).
