OBS

The Integrated Global Ocean Services System (IGOSS) is the international SYSTEM for the collection and exchange of ocean data (such as temperature and salinity) and the preparation and dissemination of oceanic products and services. IGOSS is coordinated jointly by the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), and consists of national facilities and services provided by participating member countries who share data for mutual benefit.

OBS

Le SMISO, créé conjointement par l'OMM et la COI en 1968, est le premier système opérationnel d'observation de l'océan. Il a pour objectif de fournir la cueillette en temps réel, l'échange et le traitement des observations d'océanographie physique des couches superficielles de l'océan à partir de diverses plates-formes d'acquisition de données, dont des navires de recherche et des bouées. Les données ainsi reçues sont toujours plus nombreuses. Près de 150 navires et 450 bouées transmettant régulièrement des rapports via le Système mondial de télécommunications (SMT). Le SMISO regroupe les travaux de coopération de ses États membres, et appuie des programmes régionaux, nationaux et mondiaux.
