The precise site or origin of so-called junctional tachycardia has not yet been determined. Presumably, it may arise from any of the tissues within the area surrounding the AV node. Occasionally, this arrhythmia occurs in healthy patients, but the vast majority are associated with an acute myocardial infarction, digitalis toxicity, acute myocarditis (acute rheumatic carditis), post cardiac surgery, electrolyte imbalance, or metabolic disturbances. 1, record 1, English, - junctional%20tachycardia
