A lake occupying a depression caused by glacial erosion of bedrock.

There are no glaciers in Waterton Lakes Park, but glacial features are evident in the many cirques, rock-basin lakes, U-shaped valleys, hanging valleys, waterfalls, moraines, drumlins, eskers, and outwash plains.
