La Ligue Internationale Contre le Racisme et l'Antisémitisme (ou LICRA) est une association internationale luttant contre le racisme et l'antisémitisme. La LICRA trouve son origine dans un assassinat : le 25 mai 1926 Samuel Schwartzbard abat de sang froid à Paris, au Quartier Latin, Simon Petlioura que Samuel Schwartzbard juge responsable des pogroms organisés en Ukraine. En 1927, Bernard Lecache est un jeune journaliste chargé de suivre le procès de Samuel Schwartzbard. Pour tenter de sauver Samuel Schwartzbard il se lance dans une campagne médiatique et fonde la Ligue contre les pogroms. Après l'acquittement de l'accusé, la Ligue Internationale Contre l'Antisémitisme (LICA) voit le jour. Dès 1932, le nom change en Ligue Internationale Contre le Racisme et l'Antisémitisme mais ce n'est qu'en 1979 que le sigle correspondant a été adopté par Jean Pierre-Bloch, président de l'époque.
