Lyocell, known in the fashion field as Tencel and produced by Courtaulds Fibres, is a new high-tenacity cellulosic fibre for technical applications ... Its behaviour is non-thermoplastic, which makes the fibre adaptable to any type of coating. The aptitude to fibrillation into microfibres brings integrity, resistance, opacity and absorption capacity to the yarns, nonwovens, filters and papers made with this fibre, whatever the manufacturing process like all fibres produced from cellulose, Lyocell is easily biodegradable.
