Section d'appel de l'immigration (SAI). Le recours au mode alternatif de règlement des litiges ( MARL) se veut une approche sans formalités, moins conflictuelle et plus consensuelle, qui vise à régler les appels en matière de parrainage issus essentiellement du désir de l'appelant de réunir sa famille. Le MARL va de pair avec la vision de la Commission de l'immigration et du statut de réfugié qui est de statuer « simplement, rapidement et équitablement ». La SAI est un tribunal indépendant qui entend les appels et en détermine les diverses catégories.
