A mattress consisting of transverse, inflatable tubes which are usually 15-12 cm in diameter. Alternate tubes are linked in series to a pump working on a fixed cycle so that each alternate tube is inflating while the tube next to it is deflating. Colchón de aire de presión intermitente. Está formado por una enorme cantidad de rombitos inflables cuyo aporte de aire tiene diferentes e independientes conductos de origen. Una vez inflado, el colchón requiere de una fuente de poder o batería que gobierna su funcionamiento.
