Ce matériel comprend deux sortes d'appareils : les tables d'inspection ou de contrôle et les perches d'inspection ou de contrôle. Les deux genres d'appareils sont munis entre autres d'un moteur et d'un rouleau qui fait avancer le tissu. Sur les tables d'inspection la vérification du tissu se fait à plat. En ce qui concerne les perches d'inspection, le rouleau est placé en hauteur et fait descendre le tissu pour l'inspection. Les tables et les perches sont munies d'un verre dépoli avec des lampes en dessous. On fait passer le tissu sur ces lampes et ainsi on détecte tous les défauts de tissage et de filature.
