Motor neuroprostheses are devices that use electrical stimulation to elicit functional contractions in paralyzed muscles. Neuroprosthetic devices have been developed to restore functions such as hand grasp, standing, walking, respiratory function, and bowel and bladder control in individuals with paralysis.
