La «myrmékite» de certains granites est une association microscopique de quartz et de plagioclase, formant des bourgeons appliqués par une surface convexe contre des orthoses ou microclines, là où ceux-ci sont en contact avec un plagioclase [...] Les bourgeons peuvent avoir tout au plus 1 mm de dimension [...] La myrmékite résulte d'une réaction entre le feldspath potassique et le feldspath calcosodique.
