Fire apparatus is tested regularly to ensure that it will perform properly under emergency conditions. An organized system of apparatus testing and regular maintenance is the best assurance that apparatus will perform within its design limitations. The insurance industry requires that apparatus be tested in order to receive full grading schedule credit.
