Un système de tuyère à poussée variable comprend un bâti, une paire de chemises de tuyères fixées à la surface externe du bâti de telle façon à s'ouvrir dans des directions opposées respectivement, une paire de noyaux de tuyère disposés dans la paire de chemises de tuyère afin de définir un étranglement de tuyère entre la surface externe de chaque noyau de tuyère et la surface interne de la chemise de tuyère correspondante, un arbre supporté pour coulisser dans le bâti et ayant des extrémités opposées reliées aux noyaux de tuyère respectivement, et un actionneur relié à l'arbre pour entraîner l'arbre pour des déplacements en coulissement pour varier les surfaces de section des étranglements de tuyère.
