Les systèmes vidéodisques optiques. (...) Au début des années 1960 (...) comme médium d'enregistrement, on utilisa une plaque photographique de haute résolution et une lampe à vapeur de mercure haute pression comme source lumineuse. Bien que cette expérience n'eut pas de suite directe, elle servit à démontrer la possibilité d'utiliser des techniques optiques pour l'enregistrement des signaux vidéo.
